FCE English in Use: Collocations (4)

This week’s collocations for the FCE exam are the last in the series on intensifying adverbs. Far too many students use very and very much all the time while speaking or writing, so next time you want to use very in any form, try using some of these collocations instead.

Using more advanced collocation is a great way to improve your written style for the FCE exam. Advanced collocations can also be used to great effect on the Speaking paper. Another place you will come across collocations a lot is on the Use of English paper.

A word of advice though – make sure you know how to use the collocations correctly before you attempt them on your Writing paper or your Speaking paper.

Here are some more interactive exercises with collocations which we hope you will enjoy.
