FCE Books: Vocabulary for First Certificate

If you want to be practising all the vocabulary you need to be confident in the FCE exam, you may want to consider the Cambridge: Vocabulary for First Certificate. This is one of many FCE books which have been published by the Cambridge University Press. It practises a range of FCE tasks from the Use of English, Reading, Listening and Writing papers.

The Vocabulary for First Certificate contains 20 units, each covering a specific topic that you may encounter on the FCE exam.

As the book has both an answer key section with model answers for writing tasks as well as a tape script section, it is well suited for both students who are studying in a class-room setting and students who are studying on their own.

Self-study students, in particular, will also find the many error warnings and useful tips on how to approach exam tasks of great help. Another useful feature is the extensive wordlist which has been divided into word-classes under each topic and which includes a pronunciation guide.

The Vocabulary for First Certificate also includes a number of appendices covering phrasal verbs, word building and spelling exercises.

The Audio CD that is included with the book contains context listenings for each of the 20 units. So, in addition to the vocabulary practice, you also get to develop your listening skills as well. You will also find the Exam listening tasks on the CD.
